Violence Free Communities has been operating in West Auckland for over 16 years and promotes violence free communities by creating projects, events and tools that support people to enjoy active participation in their community.
Violence Free Communities Board is currently seeking to refresh its membership by engaging new members who ideally reflect diverse professional backgrounds. We are looking in particular, for people with experience in governance and skills in Marketing, HR and the Law. We require enthusiastic and committed team players who are willing to offer their skills to serve as board members, and support the General Manager to meet the needs of the current community.
While the board meets monthly for around two hours to review operational performance and policies, board members can contribute in other ways by advocating for specific VFC projects and through subcommittee and event support as the need arises. We anticipate a commitment of up to 3 hours per month for Board related activities (inclusive of board meetings).
